Are those original equipment wheels? The sidewall to wheel size ratio is perfect on that X5, Nice!

Hey, but you have chunky tires. That in itself justifies the mud markings of justice.

its great when i get gas and pull up next to freshly waxed jeep wranglers with 33’s and gallons of tire shine... they look at me funny.

The cleaning is the best part.

Also two hours? It takes me two hours to clean our already clean car.

Degreaser (BH Surfex HD) on lower valences, attack wheels with Bilberry wheel cleaner and BH Autowheels, agitate and rinse as you go, rinse whole car, degreaser/dressing (AF Jaffa Clean) doorshuts, snow foam (Gtechniq Citrus Foam), rinse, shampoo (Gtechniq Gwash), rinse, seal wheels (Gyeon Wetcoat), rinse, seal car (Gyeon Wetcoat or Adam’s H2O or Gtechniq C2v3), rinse and dry, then it’s glass, vacuum, interior dress, check over car, glass and interior and redo where necessary.

Sorry. I’m smiling just thinking about it as I can’t get outside to do it again as we have another ruddy storm.

I’m just washing the outside, I have it all polished and sealed, so it’s not terrible, the wheels have a couple coats of sonax sealant on them too, and the pressure washer/foam cannon combo make short work of a lot of it. it’s the undercarridge and getting all the crap out that takes the most time.

Freedom is taking your BMW where blinkers are not needed.

Kudos. I think this is the first and only offroad-modded X5 I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Amazing how small those E39 wheels look inside all that rubber :D

True. I’ve been tempted a few times to buy a chassis cleaner.

I love my snow foam lance. People tend to look at me as if to say ‘what the bloody hell are you doing?’. I love it.

with all the damn sealant I cant use a bucket and sponge, it just falls off, i had no choice but tho get a foam cannon!! only way to get soap to stick!

I hear that. I tend to snow foam, rinse and then foam the shampoo onto the car and then two bucket wash as normal.

Typical exterior wash supplies.

I keep looking at them thinking I need it, but I don’t really.

I’ve a Vario swivel head which does the job nicely.

I would also however like a chassis lance.

Kinja'd!!!

Too many things I want but don’t really need.

nope, pre cleaning, it’s still dirty, just know how long it’ll take later today after work...

I guess I must not be as OCD, because that looks like about 6 minutes of cleaning to me.

This is about 40 minutes of cleaning to me

Kinja'd!!!

Actually that’s a lie because even still I’m spraying mud out of places from that trip. If it rains/snows with it outside there is some red dirt where it was. That stuff gets everywhere.

We have a little more sandy type soil here in south jersey, and that crap gets in all kinds of nooks and cranny’s, so wash the outside, the underneath and engine bay...
